Residential Warranty
Under the Home Building Act 1989, all Professional Builders who enter into a contract over $12,000 or any Owner Builder who intends to sell their property within 6 years of completion are required to have Home Owners Warranty. This covers against insolvency or death of the builder, structural defects up to 6 years and non-structural 2 years after completion.
Contract Works
There are usually two sections of cover:

Covers all property damage and / or loss arising from construction works including earthquakes, storm, flood, water, landslip, erosion, subsidence, collapse and theft of materials from site. |
Covers any occurrence which results in property damage and personal injury to third parties in relation to construction works. |
Performance Bond
A monetary or other form of guarantee required to be lodged with a principal or financier and activated in the event of the project completion not being met.
Owner Builder
Covers are available for the Owner Builder who holds the license to build or extend and who may sub-contract out certain activities of the project e.g. plumbing, tiling etc.
