There are numerous insured events which may occur and thus as many types of action may be taken by you
to mitigate further loss. The actions taken by you may have a considerable bearing on potential further loss
or in fact minimizing the current loss

 

If an accident has occurred:

 

  • Attend to any injured persons ensuring they receive prompt and where possible, professional attention.
  • Obtain details of any witnesses together with their account of the incident.
  • Should a break and enter occur you should notify the Police as soon as possible and secure the property
    to prevent further unlawful entry.
  • NEVER EVER admit liability (fault)
  • If property damage is serious, for example, severe storm damage, contact State Emergency Services (132 500)

Things to remember:

 

  • Provide as much details as you can,
  • Be honest. Should you have to change your story later, your claim could result in an investigation or a rejection,
  • Produce all documents or records supporting your claim.
